Thursday evenings - Clwyd Bowling League - All ages

The Vale of Clwyd AGM on 7th December 2017

The most important decision made was to reduce the number of players in each team from 12 to 10. At an EGM on Thursday January 25th 2018 it was decided to keep only three divisions and with four extra teams have 11 teams in each. This will extend the season in both directions so that it will begin on April 5th and end in mid September. The Presidents day competition and Pairs competition will now start at 10am instead of 1pm and be a Handicap with Division A on Scratch, division B on 1 and Division C on 2.

The new team Captain is Charlie Cunningham. This team is in the A division of the Clwyd League where the standard is probably higher than in any of the other teams we field and is open to all ages. Games require 10 players per team and are on Thursday evenings from about 6 till 9pm. The team finished a respectable 7th out of 10 in 2017 so will remain in this division in 2018. They made it to the semi-finals of the F G Andrews Shield Cup where they were narrowly beaten by St Asaph A.

Opportunity for Experienced Bowlers

Danny Prosser finished in third place in the division averages and Gwyn Evans 23rd just ahead of Paul Morris in 24th, all very well done in such a strong Division. Twenty players played at different times last season for this team and several of the regulars will unfortunately not be available this year so there will be openings should new players want to play on Thursday evenings.
